why a web site? I hope that this site will lie somewhere between those that seem an exercise in pure self-indulgence and those that seek to provide comprehensive information or links on particular topics. My main intent is to convey information, whether about me or about topics of interest to me. In the case of topical pages, I don't even try to provide exhaustive links; rather, I try to provide a few choice links that are both working and worthwhile. Enjoy!
